For the Ones We Love

Close your eyes and picture the face of someone you love. Someone who has had an influence in some way on your life or work. Maybe you’re related to them or know them, or perhaps they are a public figure, a celebrity, a philosopher, a guiding light, a teacher, an artist or a muse who sparked an inspiration or a whole new way of thinking for you. They may still be with us in the land of the living or already departed. Wherever they are, let’s try to bring them back into the room…
For the Ones We Love is a performance installation running over several hours, culminating in a sharing of all those we remembered throughout the day. The impossible task of drawing, unseen, the face of someone you love whilst undergoing quickfire questioning about everything from the moment you first met them, to the shape of their eyebrows is a serious, funny, touching and absurd experience for everyone in the room.
Ghost-Dramatic Theatre: For the Ones We Love was the first edition of this ongoing series, to mark the occasion of 25 years since the publication of Hans-Thies Lehmanns Postdramatisches Theater. Further editions to follow.
