Dancing with our Neighbours

I know I am different from you. We have different beliefs, different experiences, different languages and bank account balances, and the world receives and labels us in different ways. But we are all here to dance – together or alone – to defy a world that is in the process of tearing itself apart by polarising us. Can we still come together – especially now?

For our 30th anniversary, Gob Squad want to share our collective practice, stage and authorship and take our neighbours to the dance floor. Based on the rules of our performance “Dancing About”, where every individual confession is turned into a dance, we search each night anew in unusual constellations: what brings us together and what divides us? In a performative disco, we honestly and playfully explore questions of identity and celebrate our diversity and similarities through dance.

If I say “We are poorer than our parents”, will you dance along?
