Workshops and Lectures
The Gob Squad education programme
All of us at Gob Squad firmly believe in passing on our skills
and experience to the next generation of performers and artists.
This is why we regularly run workshops and summer schools,
and give lectures on our work and process. Workshops are often
directly related to the project we are working on at the time, so
we often explore new ideas and methods together with the participants.
As with Gob Squad's own performances, we often work site-specifically with video, sound and public interaction. Workshops touch on the main areas involved in production of a new Gob Squad project: conceptual development, building an artistic language, performing and writing text, camerawork, sound design, choreography, editing and structure. All this within the frame of learning to work collaboratively and respectfully as a group.
Recent workshops have taken place in the UK, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Croatia, Brazil and Iceland.
